ABOUT THE WESTERN REGIONAL WATER COMMISSION
Welcome to the online information source for the Western Regional Water Commission. Here you will find all documents and meeting minutes to date, plus public notices of all future meetings.
Chapter 531, Statutes of Nevada 2007 created a new regional water entity in Washoe County effective April 1, 2008. The legislation provided an opportunity for the member entities, the cities of Reno and Sparks, the South Truckee Meadows General Improvement District, the Sun Valley General Improvement District, the Truckee Meadows Water Authority, and Washoe County, to form a Joint Powers Authority to operate the WRWC.
The WRWC focuses on improving water resource planning at the regional level and facilitating coordinated resource management among the Truckee Meadows member entities.
